Loevly to meet Fred Maycock who has kindly donated to the History of Consett Steelworks project a memento from the last day of the Steelworks from Sept 1980
Fred is 80 and worked in various departments and drove the Steam Crane which is now at Beamish Museum
He kindly has donated a mounted piece of the last billet to be rolled in the billet mill
Will arrange for better pictures in due course
The project team would like to thank Frank and this will be added to items to be displayed at events in the future
